Web 2.0 is a term with many definitions. Speaking generally, it’s used to describe the large variety of services available through your browser that encourage user participation, user creation of content, and the sharing of content. The vast majority of the tools we’ve looked at in the 23 Things program have been described as Web 2.0 tools.

Criticism of Web 2.0

Of course Web 2.0 is not without its critics. With 2.0 lacking a solid definition, its promoters have sometimes been called “twopointopians”.

This article is an attempt to clarify just what we mean by Web 2.0.

The 23 thing - igoogle and Image generator:

Today I looked at the function of igoogle and image generator and able to post two pictures each from igoogle and image generator respectively.

igoogle :

It is a very handy tool/website to access all google information including a specific interest subject that can be added on using add on gadget as exemplified through the picture attached, on my case, I am using currency converter and google map add on gadget on my igoogle account layout.

Image Generator:

I experience with a few image generator site but chose image chef.com to generate my son's picture attached to this blog post entry. there are quite a few site for this image generator purpose but unfortunately some are not free. more fancy image generator require more credit points which can be obtained through the credit card payment.

this is in compliance to the 23 things assessment to create and familiarise oneself with igoogle website. igoogle is an information site website where you can organise all the google related account into it and have an add on gadget that we can incorporate into the site such as currency converter and google map as we can see on the attached picture for this post entry.

Podcast and Vodcast:

Podcast is an audio file system that can be listen to and as for the vodcast, it is a video version of the podcast.

already install iTune on my system and have been experiencing with the podcast for sometimes now. Listen to the abc news

google maps:

Log into the website to allocate the address of the rent property listed on the real state agents. it is very usefull and highly interactive as we can drag accross using the arrow to trace the connection street.

Google docs:

A very handy online document editing as to what microsoft office offer. It has word, spreadsheet and presentation tool as well.
